Version 2026-08-v1 · Effective 3 August 2026 · Draft pending final approval
This policy explains how I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR (Pty) Ltd (“IAAE”, “we”), as responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”), processes the personal information you provide when applying to attend the I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR Summit (the One Day MBA for Entrepreneurs), presented in partnership with First National Bank, a division of FirstRand Bank Limited (“FNB”).
What we collect
- Identity and contact details: name and surname, email address, phone number.

- Optional documents you choose to upload, such as management accounts or financial statements.
- Survey responses you submit before and after a summit, used for impact measurement.
- Limited technical information when you use the application form, such as your IP address and browser characteristics, processed by Cloudflare Turnstile solely to protect the form against automated abuse.
Why we process it
- To assess and respond to your summit application.
- To communicate with you about your application and the event, including confirmations, outcomes, event logistics and surveys.
- To measure the impact of the summit series and report aggregated, de-identified findings to our partner FNB and other stakeholders.
- To administer The Business Showcase opportunity and the mentorship programme, where you opted in.
We process your information on the basis of your consent, given when you submit your application, and our legitimate interest in administering the summit. You may withdraw consent at any time, though this may mean we cannot process your application further.
Sharing
Individual applicant information is accessible to the IAAE summit team. We share aggregated and de-identified reporting with FNB as summit partner; where individual information is shared with FNB (for example to administer support you have requested), it is done under confidentiality obligations and only for summit-related purposes. We do not sell personal information.
Cross-border transfers
Our website and databases are operated on infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc. and Neon Inc., email is delivered by Resend Inc., and the application form is protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare, Inc. As required by section 72 of POPIA, these operators are bound by contractual safeguards and data protection regimes that provide an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA. By submitting your application you consent to this transfer.

Applications are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems available only to authorised team members, with an audit trail of access and decisions. Uploaded documents are stored privately and are never publicly accessible. We retain application records for the duration of the 2026/27 summit series and up to 24 months thereafter for reporting, after which they are deleted or de-identified. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
